Uber Technologies (UBER)

My interest in rideshare and Turo led me to take a closer look at Uber’s business and valuation.

Why Uber caught my attention

I have a personal interest in the rideshare industry and Turo. That interest led me to research Uber: I wanted to understand the economics behind a business in a sector I already spend time thinking about.

Turo and Uber have different business models, but both raise questions about how vehicles are used, how demand is generated, and who captures the earnings. This project focuses on Uber—its mobility and delivery businesses, cash generation, and the price an investor would pay for them.

What I wanted to understand

  • How growth in trips and bookings translates into revenue and cash flow.
  • What competition, regulation, and autonomous vehicles could mean for the business.
  • How much the investment case changes when I change the valuation assumptions.

A note on the research

The presentation frames Uber as a watchlist / conditional-positive case. A dated price target requires verified market price, shares, and capital-bridge inputs.

The source dates and assumptions are included in the documents.
